Mercy

“This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. But I received mercy…” (1 Timothy 1:15)

I realize that so often, I forgot from where he’s brought me. I remember the emptiness. Being in a crowd of 5000, yet feeling alone. I’d never expressed the way I truly felt; rather, I tried to mask emotion with relationship after relationship. Then one day, Christ found me. I’d never felt more alive. I’d never felt more purpose.

If I asked everyone who would read this the sorrow that happened in his or her life, I’m sure there would be some answers that would shock us. But we’ve been rescued. We don’t have to wait to die for hope to come–hope is here now. My prayer for us all is that we remember…

Maybe you’re reading this and you’ve lost hope. No matter where you are in life or what you’ve done or have come across, if Jesus died for me, a broken, alone, person who left others broken and alone… then he did for you, too. Your life can be more. You can get out of this rut and fulfill the God-given potential you have in your life.

“…But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.” (1 Timothy 1: 16)
